Who handles your information
Snagit, operated by Snagit, handles the personal information described here to provide contact tags, fulfil orders, prevent abuse, and support customers.
Shopping and payment information
When you order, we collect your name, email, mobile number, delivery address, purchased products, order amount, selected payment method, and payment status. For bank transfer, you send the payment receipt to our WhatsApp number; the website does not request or store a receipt upload. PayHere processes payment credentials when online payment is available, and Snagit does not store full card numbers or CVV codes. We use Resend to deliver transactional order and service emails.
Tag and owner information
We store the owner mobile number linked to each activated tag, tag settings and item descriptions, alert history, credit balance, verification records, and a hashed version of scan device and network identifiers.
What scanners can see
In private mode, the owner’s phone number is never included in the scan response. In public mode, the owner has explicitly chosen to reveal it. When a tag is completely off, the scanner receives only a notice that the owner has paused contact; no item or owner information is included. Vehicle SOS access requires the scanner to verify their own number, which is recorded and shared with the owner.
How we use and share information
We use information to process and deliver orders, apply credit top-ups, send SMS alerts and email receipts, provide support, prevent fraud and misuse, and meet legal obligations. We share only what is necessary with service providers such as delivery partners, Notify.lk, Resend, Vercel, Supabase, WhatsApp, and PayHere where its payment service is used. We do not sell personal information.
Network privacy
Snagit does not store raw scanner IP addresses in its product database. We hash network and device signals with a server-side secret and use them for abuse prevention and aggregate scan counts.
Retention and security
Order, payment, alert, and verified SOS records may be retained for accounting, safety, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal requirements. We use access controls, encrypted connections, and server-side secrets, but no online system is completely risk-free.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to transaction, security, dispute, and legal retention requirements. Owners control whether a tag uses private alerts, public contact, or is completely off.
